Woman of the Year
Sarah Perahia is MBWIB Woman of the Year 2012 Sarah Perahia is a committed volunteer and has dedicated a large portion of her time to the Manhattan Beach Women in Business Committee, the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Manhattan Beach. She started out in 2009 with MBWIB as the Day-of-the-Event Chair and she was the Silent & Online Auction Chair in 2010. In 2011 Sarah decided to commit herself to MBWIB as Chair and led the committee to put on the successful 13th annual South Bay Conference for Women. She continues this year as the conference Program and Content Chair and has lined up amazing speakers and breakout sessions Originally from Palos Verdes, Sarah is one of the South Bay’s biggest supporters and she advocates for positive change in community. She is a financial advisor with theUgroup at JP Morgan Securities and leads the team’s business development efforts and assists her clientele with their residential and structured lending needs. Sarah holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She is FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registered and is California insurance licensed. She is currently working towards her Real Estate license. Prior to moving to JP Morgan with her team in October of 2011, she worked in the similar capacity at Deutsche Bank. Sarah currently serves with former Mayor Portia Cohen on the Mayor's Youth Council (MYC). The MYC is a program that brings together teenagers and community leaders to expose youth to careers and teaching them leadership within their community. She is on the Gala committee for USC’s Asian Pacific Alumni Association, is a Shareholder Representative of USC Marshall Partners South Bay-Long Beach, and is active in local fundraising for both Vistamar School and Rolling Hills Country Day School. Sarah resides in Manhattan Beach, close to her two sisters, three brothers, mother, step mother, grandmother, step grandmother, sister in Law, Step father and two nieces.
