 About Women in Business
The Women in Business Committee of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce (MBWIB) was formed in the spring of 1998. MBWIB’s mission is to provide programs and opportunities in leadership, development, mentoring, education and networking for women (and men) in business. To further this goal, the MBWIB Committee holds monthly meetings with speakers averaging up to 50 in attendance, an annual conference, 400 attendees in 2007, and, in past years, a fall tea and service awards event. The Committee also provides support for women seeking positions on corporate boards and agency appointments. In the last ten years, MBWIB has awarded over $64,000 in scholarships which helped local students fund their college educations.
